Swakop River & Desert Eco Tour

On this tour, we will concentrate our birding along the Swakop River near the town of Swakopmund.  Here we may encounter species such as Orange River White-eye, Red-faced and White-backed Mousebirds, Bokmakierie, Cape Sparrow, Rock Kestrel and various waders depending on the availability of water.   In the rocky desert areas adjacent to the riverbed, we should see species such as Gray’s Lark, Tractrac Chat as well as a variety of interesting reptiles such as Common Namib Day Gecko, Namaqua Chameleon and snakes such as Namib Sand Snake or Horned Adder. There are also a variety of arid adapted plants and interesting geological features to be seen, as well as good photographic opportunities.    .
